The start of this race was delayed due to the twenty-five-minute interval between races 5 and 6. BLUE SAGE lost one length. Jockey Lerena felt something amiss with EMPRESS VALLEY (NZ) and eased this mare out of the race at approximately the 900m. At approximately the 900m, OH MERCY ME and PRETTY BORDER had to take evasive action to avoid EMPRESS VALLEY (NZ) which was being eased out of the race. PRETTY BORDER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. OH MERCY ME, PRETTY BORDER and COJIMAR raced with tongue ties on. Vet: EMPRESS VALLEY (NZ) - broke down left fore. Euthanized on humane grounds. Samples collected for analysis. Scratched: MS HOLLY GOLIGHTLY - injured in transit. STAR HALO - swollen left front. MUSETTE - insufficient recovery time.
