The start of this race was delayed due to GRAVITATION proving reluctant to proceed to the start and having to be led and a replacement crop being sent to the start for Jockey Zackey. PEKING TYSON and SWORDOFTHESPIRIT were slow into stride. GRAVITATION was reluctant to proceed to the start and had to be led. Assistant Trainer Turner (on behalf of Trainer T Spies) was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. Passing the 150m, GRAVITATION was forced to ease and became unbalanced to the inside of MINDMYMOOOOD which was cramped and carried in by REYMUNDO which was carried in by LITTLE DRUMMER BOY which was hanging in and shifted in from the 500m and proved difficult to assist. A race review was called into this incident, however after reviewing this incident; it was decided to take no further action. Jockey Maujean appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his riding of LITTLE DRUMMER BOY. He explained that this gelding was hanging inwards badly and he had made several attempts to keep this gelding on a straight course. After reviewing the patrol films of the race, the Board was satisfied that Jockey Maujean had made sufficient effort to keep his mount on a straight course. Assistant Trainer Turner (on behalf of Trainer Spies) was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to assist this gelding in keeping straight in races. She was further advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. REYMUNDO raced in Club Colours. Jockey Zackey's broken crop was inspected by the Stipendiary Board and appeared to have snapped after being caught in the saddle of GRAVITATION en route to the start. BIG FISH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. REYMUNDO raced and SWORDOFTHESPIRIT raced without a tongue ties. Scratched: JOHN IN FLIGHT - not eating up.
