Leaving the 300m COLD CASH had to steady momentarily when attempting to make his run between EMILY JAY and DESERT RHYTHM. Shortly before the finish line BEING FABULOUS (AUS), which was hanging in, was brushed outwards by REDBERRY LANE, which rolled out. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board, which was followed by the trainer of the second placed horse, BEING FABULOUS (AUS), lodging an objection against REDBERRY LANE being declared the winner, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by all the parties, as well as the fact that there was inward movement from BEING FABULOUS (AUS) and simultaneously an outward movement from REDBERRY LAINE, the close proximity of the contact made between these two horses to the finish line and the winning distance of 0.25 lengths, could not be satisfied that this incident had affected the result of the race and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the judges' result to stand. REDBERRY LANE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
