KINDRED COUNTESS was slow losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. PHILOMENA was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. At the 800m SPIRIT FESTIVAL was bumped heavily by SUPER LADY which was hanging out and shifted out sharply. At the 200m PHILOMENA shifted in and bumped QUEEN OF THE SOUTH on three occasions causing QUEEN OF THE SOUTH to become unbalanced. Work Rider Ndzongo as the rider of PHILEMONA failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to QUEEN OF THE SOUTH when he shifted in at the 200m. Work Rider Ndzongo was suspended for one Work Riders' Race. (date to be confirmed). Work Rider Madalana, rider of SPIRIT FESTIVAL become unbalanced approaching the 100m. All riders that participated in this race appeared before the Board and were advised that the standard of riding witnessed during this race was of an unacceptable level, even for a Work Riders' race. Riders were advised that the Stewards expect to see an improvement in the ability of all riders and were advised that should the standard not improve consideration would be given as to whether approval for certain riders be withdrawn. RIVER RHONE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
