GYRE was slow into stride. PLATINUM PRINCE jumped awkwardly. Jockey Khumalo failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse GYRE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. In view of the performances from BRAVE MOVE and GYRE the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare and this gelding on their return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey Domeyer, rider of OUR MATE ART (AUS) reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. EARTH HOUR was momentarily held up for a clear run at the 250m and again at the 150m. RUN RED was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BRAVE MOVE and GYRE - examined post-race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. OUR MATE ART (AUS) - returned not striding out left fore. Scratched: MAC DE LAGO (AUS) - lame left fore.
