The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to refit the left fore shoe on KING'S STORY at the start. CARLBURG jumped awkwardly as the start was affected losing one length. SILVER CENT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Crawford was questioned regarding the improved performance of SILVER CENT compared to this gelding's previous performance. Assistant Trainer Crawford could offer no explanation other than that this gelding was having his second run after having been given a break to freshen him up. This explanation was noted and the future performances of SILVER CENT will be monitored. Jockey de Melo the rider of FROZEN TUNE and Apprentice Ferraris the rider of KING'S STORY reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running. Jockey Brown the rider of ROY'S ROLL'S ROYCE (AUS) reported this gelding took no interest in running. Jockey Moodley the rider of ROY'S TAXI reported this gelding not striding out freely in running. In view of the performance of WASHINGTON SQUARE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. KING'S STORY raced wide on the latter part of the bend and into the straight. PANTSULA was hanging in, in the straight. THE PRIVATE raced with ear muffs. SILVER CENT raced with alumites in front, unshod behind. Vet: FROZEN TUNE, ROY'S TAXI and WASHINGTON SQUARE - nothing obvious detected. KING'S STORY and ROY'S ROLL'S ROYCE (AUS) - coughing. Scratched: TRIPPLE EXPLOSION - foot sore.
