SILVER PLAINS broke through the front of the stall, was immediately restrained, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. SALT was reluctant to load. WINDY FLIGHT and BROTHER LOUIS were fractious in the stalls. CAPTAIN'S ADVICE hesitated as the start was affected and refused to jump thereafter. The Board reviewed the start with regard to CAPTAIN'S ADVICE in stall gate thirteen. As the start was affected CAPTAIN'S ADVICE stood, threw his head up and thereafter refused to jump. In view of this CAPTAIN'S ADVICE was declared a runner. In view of the report from the Starter regarding SALT, Trainer Kannemeyer was advised to have SALT reschooled before his next engagement. In view of the report from the Starter with regard to WINDY FLIGHT, BROTHER LOUIS and CAPTAIN'S ADVICE, these geldings' starting stall certificates were withdrawn and they were suspended for a period of seven days. Suspension dates: 26/02/2019 to 04/03/2019. WINDY FLIGHT, BROTHER LOUIS and CAPTAIN'S ADVICE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Jockeys de Melo, rider of SALT and Khumalo, rider of GOLD PACT reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings on their return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. VENDEE GLOBE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SALT - examined post-race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. GOLD PACT - returned not striding out on the left fore. WINDY FLIGHT - returned not striding out on the right fore. Scratched: ROCKS AND DAGGERS - elevated temperature.
