VASE kicked the back gates. GEOGRAPHE BAY lost three lengths. BEAT IT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Howells was questioned regarding the improved performance of BEAT IT compared to this filly's previous performance on 20 January 2019. Mr Howells could offer no suitable explanation. The Board advised Mr Howells's that the future performances of this filly will be monitored and his attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running. NIKIYA was hanging out throughout, shifted out entering the final straight carrying VASE outwards. This resulted in VASE and FAIR ANTONIA making contact and becoming unbalanced. Thereafter approaching the 300-metre mark NIKIYA continued to shift outwards resulting in FAIR ANTONIA becoming cramped for galloping room and having to check off the heels of NIKIYA losing position. Apprentice Arries failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to FAIR ANTONIA at approximately the 300-meter mark. He was suspended for a period of 7 days. (Suspension dates: 07.03.19-13.03.19, bdi). Approaching the 250-meter mark BE HAPPY shifted out slightly carrying BEAT IT outwards. This resulted in ABOVE ELEVEN becoming momentarily inconvenienced on the heels of BEAT IT. BE HAPPY over-raced in the early stages. In view of the performances of VASE the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. YAAS: The ownership should read:- Nijinsky Investments (Pty) Ltd (Nom : Mr V Naidu) and the colors are yellow, purple band of diamonds and sleeves, quartered cap (SWE - 01.03.19). Vet: VASE - coughing. Scratched: GINGER BISCUIT - insufficient recovery time (Trainer - 01.03.19/08h52).
