PERFECT TIGRESS lost one length. I LIKE IT lost three lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. Trainer Moffatt was advised to re-school this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). Jockey Brown, the rider of I LIKE IT appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised against the practice of using his crop on a horse when out of contention for a place. When assessing this sanction, the Board took into consideration Jockey Brown's clean record with regards to the use of his crop, as well as the fact that this filly has shown that she responds to the crop in races. Jockey Zechner reported that he felt something amiss with RONNIE'S CANDY in running. Jockey Khumalo reported that SKYE LANE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. RETURN FLIGHT, NAFAAYES (AUS) and BLOSSOM were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning RONNIE's CANDY, this filly is suspended for 60 days from running in races in terms of Rule 93.1. Trainer Gray was advised. Vet: RONNIE'S CANDY - bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60-day suspension. SKY LANE - no respiratory noise detected post race.
