WELAKAPELA was stubborn to load. PURPLE PERSUASION was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. WELAKAPELA raced wide on the latter part of the bend and into the straight. In view of the performance of CENTRE STAGE the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey Veale the rider of DUNE DANCE reported this filly took no interest in the running. WELAKAPELA raced fitted with alumites both fore and unshod behind. Vet: CENTRE STAGE and DUNE DANCE - nothing obvious detected. Trainer Drier was advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this filly on her return to stables.
