MOON BIRD was restless in the stalls. Removed, checked by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. Trainer Humby advised to re-school this gelding. MARCHETTO, MUTAWAARY (AUS) and ROCKY COAST were all slow into stride. TRIPLE FATE LINE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The saddle on ROCKY COAST slipped back shortly after the start resulting in Jockey Moodley being unable to fully assist this gelding in running. Jockey Marcus the rider of MOON BIRD reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running and as a result did not persevere with his ride in the closing stages. In view of the performance of ELUSIVE WOLF the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. PETER PIPER was carried inwards slightly by MUTAWAARY (AUS) near the 150-meter mark. Vet: ELUSIVE WOLF - not striding out left hind. MOON BIRD - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: HAND ON HEART - got leg caught in a back gate.
