VISION TO KILL and ON THAT BOULEVARD were both slow into stride. ON THAT BOULEVARD and SOCRATES were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LA FERRARI over-raced in the early stages. Jockey Lerena the rider of LA FERRARI reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. Jockey Marcus the rider of SOCRATES appeared before the Board with regard to his riding of this colt. He advised the Board that SOCRATES had raced keenly in the early stages without cover; and as such had tired in the closing stages. This was confirmed in the patrol videos. The Board noted that when challenged and passed by ON THAT BOULEVARD, that Jockey Marcus had not fully ridden his mount out over the final three strides. The Board, whilst satisfied that SOCRATES' finishing position was not prejudiced, reminded Jockey Marcus of his obligation in terms of the Rules, to ride his mounts out to the end of the race. Vet: LA FERRARI - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: CHANTYMAN - insufficient recovery time.
