LADY COME LATELY refused to load and was subsequently scratched by the start. this incident caused a delay to the start of this race. LADY COME LATELY refused to load and was subsequently scratched by the Starter. Trainer Rugg was advised to re-school this filly prior to her next engagement (PHvdW). DAME JUDITH stumbled badly leaving the stalls. GLAD I AM was slow into stride. Shortly after the start, DAME JUDITH stumbled badly dislodging Jockey Storey. After an investigation by the Stipendiary Board, it was established that LADY COME LATELY's loading procedure was incorrect according to its grading, and in light of this, the Board decided to take no action against this filly. DAKOTA MIDNIGHT and GLAD I AM were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of DAKOTA MIDNIGHT, Trainer von Willingh Smit could offer the Board no suitable explanation except that this filly made an abnormal respiratory noise in her last run. Trainer von Willingh Smit's attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running. DAKOTA MIDNIGHT raced equipped with steels in front and alumites behind. GOLDEN SEMENYA raced without a tongue tie. Scratched: LADY COME LATELY - refused to load.
