In the light of the prevailing weather conditions, horses were galloped on the track and a track inspection was conducted by representatives of the National Horseracing Authority, the Operator, Jockeys and the Track Manager prior to the commencement of the race meeting. During the inspection it was established that the condition of the track was inconsistent in places and the underfoot conditions were unsafe for racing. Consequently, a decision was taken to move the race meeting to the Poly track. The distance of races 5 and 6 were changed to 1900m and races 4 and 8 were changed to 1300m. Trainers were afforded the opportunity to scratch due to the change of surface. LUNA WISH, MYTHICAL GIRL, SISTER LEE and XTREME AIR were slow into stride and lost 1 length respectively. SET IN AMBER was nervous in the stalls. LAW AND ORDER was hanging out on the bend and consequently Jockey J Penny elected to race to the outside running rail in the straight. At the 900m SISTER LEE was awkwardly placed on the heels of LAW AND ODER. Thereafter SISTER LEE raced green in the running. LUNA WISH was hanging out in the concluding stages. Jockey Khathi, rider of XTREME AIR appeared before the Board was shown the patrol film of the race and advised against the practice of using his crop whilst his mount is out of contention for a place. LUNA WISH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: LAW AND ODER and SISTER LEE - cast left fore shoe. MYTHICAL GIRL - cast left fore shoe and speedy cut left hind. Scratched: INGAKARA and SPEECHMAKER - change of surface.
