THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EUPHORIANT (M Yeni) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) FLY NORTH (C Maujean) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SHEZAGLO (C Habib) hung in from the 300m. b) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with ONE-OH-WONDER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Apprentice L J Ferraris reported that BURNT JASPER did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Apprentice J Gates reported that PASSION PEACH coughed in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning PASSION PEACH, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this mare is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer B D Botes advised. f) VELD FLOWER (*K Matsunyane), the dead-heat winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B D Botes advised (LN). g) Stable Employee F Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Spies, was questioned regarding the improved performance of ZERNEZ (M Mjoka). The only explanation he could offer the board is that blinkers were fitted to this filly for the first time. Stable Employee F Naude has undertaken to race this filly similarly equipped in future. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) IL MONDO: Jockey S Brown weighed out at 57,9kg, 1,5kg over the carded weight of which 1kg was declared. Race 7 contd. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) ZERNEZ was ridden by Jockey M Mjoka (declared 3 December 2020 at 10H31). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ONE-OH-WONDER not striding out right front. b) BURNT JASPER not striding out left hind and coughing. c) PASSION PEACH bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60-day suspension.
