When the loading procedure commenced a technical problem was detected with the starting stalls and horses which had been loaded were taken out. The problem could not be resolved and a decision was made to start the race manually. MARCO POLO was restless in the stalls. DOPPIO ORO and GOOD TO KNOW were slow losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. Subsequent to the normal pre-race starting stall test, and the commencement of the loading procedure a technical fault with the starting stalls was detected. The field was unloaded and as the technical error could not be resolved a manual start was affected after the field were reloaded. This caused a delay to the start of this race. Jockey de Melo, rider of ALL BLACK reported that he felt something amiss with this colt which faded quickly in the latter stages. GOOD TO KNOW and PICK EIGHT CAPTAIN raced green. THE LAST SUPPER raced green on the bend. Leaving the 200m TREE OF WISDOM was awkwardly placed on the inside of DOPPIO ORO which raced green and rolled in. MARCO POLO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ALL BLACK - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise.
