WINGS OF HONOR was restless in the stalls. ICON KING jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with DRAGON POWER. WINGS OF HONOR and TEMP THE TIGER jumped slow losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. MOON ROCK had to be re-saddled at the start causing a slight delay to the start of this race. Jockey de Melo, rider of DRAGON POWER reported that this gelding took no interest. The saddle on ICON KING slipped sideways leaving the stalls which placed him at a disadvantage. Jockey Cele, rider of DAYONAUT reported that this gelding choked up in running and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. Approaching the 500m GREEN JACKET had to be steadied off the heels of KING OF ACES which rolled in and had to be shifted out to continue his run. Jockey Fourie appeared before the Board and was interviewed with regard to his riding of this gelding in the straight. The Board have adjourned to consider the evidence given by Jockey Fourie and will review the patrol film. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine GREEN JACKET on his return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. RED RASCAL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BEETHOVEN - cast a hind shoe prior to the race which was not able to be replaced resulting in the other hind shoe being removed and this gelding racing in alumites in front and unshod behind. DRAGON POWER - examined post-race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. MOON ROCK - returned not striding out on the left hind. DAYONAUT - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. GREEN JACKET - examined post-race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. Scratched: BESTDAY OF MYLIFE - skin disease.
