The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. BILLIE'S BOY lost one length. THE BRASS WAY reared in the stalls. FEITAS FLYER was restless and reared in the stalls. Trainer Verdonese was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement (GT). DOUBLE WINNER and TURF MASTER over-raced in the early stages. THE BRASS WAY was hanging in from the 300m. Jockey Sampson reported that THE BRASS WAY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Shortly before the finish line, CHEVRON rolled in making slight contact with DRY YOUR EYES on two occasions. The Board called a race review into this incident. After reviewing the patrol film of the race, the Board decided to take no further action. CHEVRON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Lerena struck the horse CHEVRON more than three times on consecutive strides. DRY YOUR EYES was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. DOUBLE WINNER raced without a tongue tie. Vet: THE BRASS WAY - no respiratory noise detected post race.
