Jockey Storey, the rider of COASTAL TORRENT, reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. Jockey Habib, the rider of KILOWATT KID, reported this horse was not striding out freely in running. Shortly before the finish FLANDERS became unbalanced when bumped-in by WHAT A DANDY which was bumped in by ROAD TO DUBAI which was hanging in from the 250m. A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey Habib, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After hearing the evidence of all parties concerned, and reviewing the Patrol Films of the race from multiple angles, the Objection Board could not be satisfied that this incident had affected the result of the race. Therefore, it over-ruled the Objection and allowed the Judges' Result to stand. An Inquiry was opened into this incident. ROAD TO DUBAI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FAREEQ (AUS) raced in steels. Vet: KILOWATT KID - reported not striding out. This gelding was examined post-race and nothing untoward was found. COASTAL TORRENT - examined post-race. Nothing untoward found.
