The start of the 4th Race was slightly delayed as a result of ORIENT EXPRESS and FONTEYN being re-saddled at the start. CALL ME TONIGHT, ORIENT EXPRESS, BELLE OF PARIS and FONTEYN were all slow into stride. JAMAICA BAY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Approaching the 1600 metre mark ORIENT EXPRESS shifted in causing TINKLE and FONTEYN, who were over-racing, to be cramped for galloping room. This resulted in AMBERBELL becoming unbalanced along the inside running rail. Jockey de Melo failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to runners on his inside at approximately the 1600 meter mark. He was suspended for a period of 7 days. In view of the performance of AMBERBELL, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. DISNEY PRINCESS returned post-race having cast the left hind shoe. ORIENT EXPRESS returned post-race having cast the left fore shoe. FONTEYN raced fitted with ear-muffs. Vet: AMBERBELL - nothing obvious detected.
