The start of this Race was delayed due to the late arrival of CAPE WILDCAT at the start. TEQUILA MAN, CLOUDLESS SKY, HYDRO FORCE and TYRELL lost one length. HARTLEYFOUR jumped outwards leaving the stalls. In view of the performance of COUNTRY SQUIRE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Trainer Maroun was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this colt on return to stables. The saddle on HARTLEYFOUR slipped forward in running. This was confirmed by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. As a consequence of this, Apprentice Schwarz was unable to fully assist his mount in running. At approximately the 200m, COUNTRY SQUIRE and WRITTEN IN STONE were carried in by CAPE WILDCAT, which switched in to continue its run. Apprentice Juglall appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the race and advised to take more care when shifting ground in races. SEA DANCE and CAPE WILDCAT were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. COUNTRY SQUIRE raced equipped with alumites. CAPE WILDCAT raced without a tongue tie. Vet: COUNTRY SQUIRE - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. PETRONI VINI - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: GIMME THE FIRE - insufficient recovery time. STREAKING STAR - abnormal temperature.
