GREAT CRUSADE was slow into stride. In the concluding stages, CAPTAIN HOOK was brushed out marginally on two separate occasions, by GREAT CRUSADE which shifted out away from the crop. A member of the Stipendiary Board called a race review into this incident however, after reviewing the patrol film of the race, he was satisfied that at the point of contact between the horses, GREAT CRUSADE had in fact ran on from behind and passed CAPTAIN HOOK. Therefore, no further action was taken. At approximately the 1400m CAPTAIN CARLOS took an awkward stride. In view of the performance of CAPTAIN CARLOS the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. BALTIC DANSEUR was hanging in from the 200m.
