JE NE SAID QUOI became fractious, broke open the front gate, and was restrained after about 100m, returned to the start, checked by the Veterinary Surgeon, and declared fit to race. As a result of the above report, SUMMER MOON became fractious, dislodged the rider, broke open the front gate and bolted the course, was subsequently withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. The field was unloaded until SUMMER MOON had been caught and secured. WALDORF ASTORIA (AUS) fell over leaving the parade ring. The paramedics examined Jockey Khathi and declared him fit to ride. The Veterinary Surgeons examined the filly and declared her fit to race. The start of this Race was rescheduled after SUMMER MOON was withdrawn, to allow the betting public to restructure their bets. In view of the report from the Starter regarding SUMMER MOON, and considering the lack of starting stall history, Trainer Snaith was advised to have the filly re-schooled before her next engagement. In view of the report from the Starter regarding JE NE SAIS QUOI, Trainer Kotzen was advised that the starting stall certificate was withdrawn and she was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable. JE NE SAIS QUOI may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Apprentice Mbhele, rider of FLASH FIRE, reported that this mare did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the mare on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey Noach, rider of STREAM OF KINDINESS, reported that this filly made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Shortly after the start, JE NE SAIS QUOI was tightened for galloping room on the inside of MISS D' ARAY, which shifted in. Jockey Behr appeared before the Board and was advised to give more room to runners on his inside when attempting to position his mount in future. At about the 450m WALDORF ASTORIA (AUS) and PRINCIPESSA brushed when they attempted the same narrow run between ROCK TRIP and FLASH FIRE and thereafter WALDORF ASTORIA (AUS) switched in to continue his run. TRANSYLVANIA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: WALDORF ASTORIA (AUS) - examined in the parade ring, after it fell over, before going to the start, and was examined again at the start, the filly was declared fit to race. FLASH FIRE - examined post-race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. STREAM OF KINDNESS - returned choked up. Scratched: SOMMERSONNE - bruised left fore sole. SUMMER MOON - bolted the course, cut on right eyebrow.
