THE BOSTON ROSE stumbled shortly after the start and carried CHARGE D' AFFAIRES outwards. In view of the performance from THE BOSTON ROSE, which was reported to have tired quickly and was not persevered with in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey Marcus, rider of RUN FOX RUN (AUS, appeared before the Board and was shown the patrol film of his riding in the latter stages. The Board explained that while the Stewards accepted that the filly was winning with some ease he was still expected to ride in a reasonable and professional manner to the finish. RUN FOX RUN (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: THE BOSTON ROSE - returned blowing. INTOTHELIMELIGHT (AUS) - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. CAPE CHARLOTTE - returned cut on the left hind.
