ONLY IN MY DREAMS was slow into stride. BHALTAIR and EFFORT were stubborn loading. CAF?? CUBANO was stubborn loading, slow away and lost 2 lengths. GIACOMO was nervous in the stalls. In view of the performance of MIO GRANDE, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. TRIAL RUN over raced in the early and middle stages and thereafter was hanging out in the concluding stages. At approximately the 200m BOLD STRIKE had to switch out, to continue its run, off the heels of BHALTAIR, which was hanging in. An objection was lodged by the Rider of BOLD STRIKE against BHALTAIR being declared the winner on the grounds of interference from the 250m. The Board after having regard to the evidence put forward by the respective parties, was of the opinion that this incident had not affected the result of this race. Therefore, it overruled the objection and allowed the judge's result to stand. In deciding whether or not to refund Jockey Hewitson's deposit, the Board took into consideration several factors which included, the distance where the interference took place, the margin between the two runners at the finish line and that at no stage did Jockey Hewitson stop riding or appear to lose momentum. In this regard, the Board was of the view that the most appropriate action would be for Jockey Hewitson's deposit to be forfeited. Assistant Trainer Tuner failed to vaccinate the horse LINDEN ROCK against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. BHALTAIR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MIO GRANDE - nothing obvious detected. ONLY IN MY DREAM - speedy cut seal ped both hind legs.
