Light rain fell prior to and during the running of this Race. TWEED VALLEY and YAAS lost one length. QUEEN OF ALAMO was slow into stride. JUST VOGUE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ZARNITSA was hanging out throughout. In view of the performance of ZARNITSA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Approaching the 200m QUEEN OF ALAMO, which had shown a tendency to hang inwards, had to steady to avoid the heels of MAKING WAVES, which was switched out to obtain a clear run and then shifted out slightly when just not sufficiently clear. Jockey Marcus, the rider of MAKING WAVES, and Jockey Lerena, the rider of QUEEN OF ALAMO, were afforded the opportunity to provide their interpretations of this incident and the Stewards', in their assessment of the incident, ruled that there was insufficient evidence when considering these particulars to sustain a charge against Jockey Marcus, rider of MAKING WAVES. Mr Marcus was however advised that in future he needs to provide sufficient clearance to the runners behind him when shifting ground in races or a charge may very well be leveled against him.
