During the loading process RECONNAISSANCE became restless, resulting in GIGLIO breaking open the front gate. GIGLIO was returned to the start, inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. FIRED UP over-raced in the early stages and as a result of this raced wide round the turn. Thereafter, at the 300m, FIRED UP took an awkward stride when carried out by JACKO BOY, which rolled out. Jockey Simons did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. At approximately the 150m UNDISCOVERED GEM, which had come to the end of its run, had to steady momentarily off the heels of EVENING BELL, which rolled in marginally. BIEN VENUE and EVENING BELL were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: FIRED UP - fatigued.
