The start of the 2nd Race was delayed to allow for the medical staff to attend to Jockey Khan who had been dislodged shortly after the winning post in Race 1. AMBER FURST and MARSALA both lost 1 length. VASE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Forster was questioned regarding the improved performance of VASE, the winner compared to this filly's previous run on the 1.3.2019. He explained that in her previous start she had raced wide from the outside draw and after being cramped and unbalanced at the 400-meter mark VASE had been squeezed out and had to switch to the inside for a clear run. VASE then compounded in the latter stages with the rider reporting this filly had coughed. His explanation was noted and the future performances of VASE will be monitored by the Stipendiary Board. Between the 200 and 100 meter marks ABOVE ELEVEN and FAIR ANTONIA, who were racing on the outside of AMBRA, were carried outwards. Thereafter at the 50-meter mark ABOVE ELEVEN, FAIR ANTONIA and AMBER FURST became unbalanced. An Inquiry will be held into this incident. FLAMENCO DANCER was momentarily cramped between AMBER FURST and FAIR ANTONIA at approximately the 300-meter mark and thereafter FLAMENCO DANCER was baulked for a clear run between the 150 and 50 meter marks. AMBRA was hanging out over the final 300 meters. FAIR ANTONIA over-raced middle stages. In view of the performances of FLAMENCO DANCER and NORTHERN STORM, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Apprentice Gates, the rider of MARSALA,reported this filly not striding out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. SOMEONE EXCITING raced fitted with alumites bar shoes both fore and alumites behind. NOEMI raced fitted with a Cornell collar. Vet: FLAMENCO DANCER - not striding out right fore. MARSALA and NORTHERN STORM - nothing obvious detected. NOEMI - blowing post-race. Scratched: CONNECT ME - elevated temperature.
