CANDY CRASH was stubborn loading. SEATTLE MERMAID was slow into stride. In the concluding stages CANDY CRUSH had to switch out to continue her run. Shortly before the finish PRINCESS VICKY had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of TOKOVAR. At the 700m AFLEET FLYER, which was outpaced in the early and middle stages, switched out. Thereafter, this filly produced a powerful finishing burst despite hanging in, in the straight. Trainer Greeff appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of SHEPARD'S DELIGHT. In this regard, he explained to the Board that he has always rated this filly highly and could only describe her last two runs as disappointing and without reason. Trainer Greeff further explained that at this early stage of her career, this filly could appreciate racing on the Poly Track more than on the grass. The Board noted Mr Greeff's explanation however, his attention was drawn to the rules pertaining to in and out running. In view of the performance of STRAWBERRY GIRL, Trainer Mckenzie was requested to report back on condition of this filly upon return to the stables. SHEPHARD'S DELIGHT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: PRINCESS VICKY - abnormal respiratory noise and not striding out right fore.
