The start of this race was delayed due to PERFECT GRACE breaking through the front gate and having to be checked by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race, and re-loaded by the Starter. PERFECT GRACE broke through the front of the starting stalls and had to be re-loaded. PERFECT GRACE was slow out of the starting stalls losing one length. This horse's Starting Stalls Certificate was withdrawn and it must be re-certified before being nominated to race again. In view of the Starters report, PERFECT GRACE were suspended in that it may not be presented to be re-certified within the next seven days. Jockey Habib, the rider of PHILANTHROPY, appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to his drastic movement from the inside to the outside of the track. He explained to the Board that he wanted to be on the outside of the track as it was perceived that the going was much better on the outside. His explanation was noted. However, Jockey Habib was advised that he must take more care not to cover unnecessary ground in a race in future. COOL SOLUTION was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
