Light rain fell prior to and during the running of the 5th Race. OLLIVANDER, THE SULTANS BAZAAR and JANICE'S SECRET (AUS) all lost 1 length. SILVER ROSE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the performances of THE SULTANS BAZAAR, BRIGHTEYEBUSHYTAIL, IMPACT ZONE and JANICE'S SECRET (AUS), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Jockey Yeni the rider of BRIGHTEYEBUSHYTAIL reported this gelding did not act in the prevailing soft underfoot track conditions. After the running of the 5th Race the riders expressed concerns with regard to the continuation of the race meeting as a result of the soft underfoot track conditions and the poor visibility. A panel was formed in terms of the Rules and after consultation between riders' and trainers' representatives it was agreed to continue and the riders would attempt to race off the inside racing line. OLLIVANDER raced fitted with straight bar shoes. WARFARER and PATHS OF VICTORY raced fitted with ear-muffs. Vet: THE SULTANS BAZAAR and JANICE'S SECRET (AUS) - nothing obvious detected. BRIGHTEYEBUSHYTAIL - coughing. IMPACT ZONE - not striding out left hind. Scratched: CAT'S LEGACY - hoof abscess.
