There was a delay to the start of the 6th Race as a result of the jockeys protest which was lodged after the running of the 5th Race. Light rain continued to fall before and during the running of the 6th Race. LUNA CHILD and WOODSTOCK FAIRY both lost 1 length. MIYABI GOLD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey van Rensburg the rider of PERFECT TIGRESS reported this filly did not act in the prevailing soft underfoot track conditions. In view of the performances of TALITHA BOREALIS, EXPEDITE and REACTIVE GLAZE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. KILMOKEA raced to the front without cover and compounded over the final 300 metres. Jockey Wright failed to weigh out at the carded weight confirmed in his engagement, resulting in a change of rider. Vet: TALITHA BOREALIS - not striding out left fore. EXPEDITE - coughing. REACTIVE GLAZE - nothing obvious detected. Following the running of the 6th Race the riders, having kept off the inside racing line, expressed further concerns with regard to the soft underfoot track conditions. The panel which had been formed inspected the track and was of the unanimous opinion that an area at the 600-meter mark in the center of the track was unsafe and therefore postponed the running of the 7th Race to another day to be determined by the Racing Operator.
