TWILIGHT TRIP broke through the front gate of the starting stall. This gelding was restrained by its rider, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding was withdrawn. In view of the Starter's report with regard to TWILIGHT TRIP this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days until such time as it proves tractable in the starting stalls with a companion. TWILIGHT TRIP may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Jockey Greyling failed to ride this gelding out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. When contemplating an appropriate penalty to impose, the Board considered that Jockey Greyling's mount SILVER COIN would have finished where he finished, however he had not ridden his mount out for the final four strides of the race. Jockey Habib, as the rider of TWILIGHT TRIP, failed to ride this gelding out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. When contemplating an appropriate penalty to impose, the Board considered that Jockey Habib's mount TWILIGHT TRIP was well beaten by the third placed horse SILVER COIN and had already come to the end of its run, however he had not ridden his mount out for the final three strides of the race. COACHELLA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. COACHELLA raced in steels.
