The start of this race was delayed due to the late scratching of STRONG 'N BRAVE, which refused to load. STRONG 'N BRAVE refused to load and was scratched. The starting stall certificate for this gelding was withdrawn. WHITELEAF HILLS and BIG JAY'S were slow into stride. In view of the Starter's report with regard to STRONG 'N BRAVE, this gelding's starting stall certificate was withdrawn and he was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable to jump on terms. Trainer Paddock was advised that STRONG 'N BRAVE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. In the concluding stages, GREAT CRUSADE was bumped out by WHITELEAF HILLS which shifted out away from the crop. A race review was called into this incident which was followed by an objection being lodged by the Rider of the 2nd placed horse GREAT CRUSADE WHITELEAF HILLS, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After hearing the evidence of all parties concerned and reviewing the patrol films of the race, the Objection Board was of the view that, GREAT CRUSADE which had run on from behind WHITELEAF HILLS, had gathered sufficient momentum to come through and win the race. However, at the point where GREAT CRUSADE would have definitively taken the lead, he was bumped out by WHITELEAF HILLS. This resulted in GREAT CRUSADE severely losing momentum. Consequently, the Objection Board was of the view that, but for the above incident, GREAT CRUSADE would have finish ahead of WHITELEAF HILLS. Accordingly, Jockey Gould's objection was upheld and the Judge's result was amended. WHITELEAF HILLS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. GOLDEN SHAMROCK raced and without cheek pieces. Vet: MAHIR - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: STRONG 'N BRAVE - refused to load.
