The start of this race was delayed due to delay and objection in the previous race and the late scratching of OVER TAKING which refused to load. EPIC STORM was slow away and lost 1 length. CLOSE TO MY HEART was nervous in the stalls. OVER TAKING reared in the stalls, was injured and withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. Trainer Bremner was advised to re-school this filly prior to her next engagement. In deciding what action to take against this horse, the Starter considered the non-history of this filly at the starting stalls. CLOSE TO MY HEART over raced in the early stages. Apprentice Mphanya reported that ARIKARA was not striding out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. EPIC STORM was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. JOKING DICE raced equipped with ear muffs. Vet: ARIKARA - abnormal respiratory noise, fatigue. Scratched: INGA - not eating up. OVER TAKING injured in stalls.
