THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOUVAIN (J Sampson), ST JOSEPH'S LILY (ZIM) (M Mjoka) and MAKE A PENNY (M van Rensburg) were slow into stride. b) MISS KHALIFA (W Kennedy) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LORALEI (N Qaule) proved stubborn cantering to the start, this filly is suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4 and until such time as she proves tractable cantering to the start on a race day. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, was advised (AH). b) DESERT PRIDE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Nako, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry, was advised (AH). c) LOUVAIN (J Sampson), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee F Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Spies, was advised (LB). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LORALEI raced equipped with pacifiers (declared 10 December 2020 at 05H22). b) BURNT JASPER is now trained by Mr F Bronkhorst. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) DESERT PRIDE mouth injury. b) READYSETGLO abnormal respiratory noise. SCRATCHED: a) HELLO HAPPINESS and LIGHTNING ROCK reserve runners. Advised 10 December 2020 at 08H23. b) HEAR THE TRUMPET - On arrival at the start, Jockey S Khumalo requested the Veterinary Surgeon to examine this mare as he felt something amiss with her en route to the start. The Veterinary Surgeon passed her fit to race, however, Jockey S Khumalo was not prepared to ride HEAR THE TRUMPET and she was subsequently scratched (NHA / 14H27). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
