Jockey Byleveld, rider of HERCULES GIRL used his crop with excessive frequency in the straight whilst riding the horse HERCULES GIRL. When deciding on penalty the Board considered that this was Jockey Byleveld's first offence with regard to a contravention of the particular Rule, read with the particular Guideline, during his riding career. Leaving the 1200m PHILOMENA and BLACK GARDENIA bumped when tightened for galloping room on the inside of ALFRED'S GIRL. Shortly thereafter, PHILOMENA had to ease off the heels of ALFRED'S GIRL, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey Noach, rider of ALFRED'S failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to PHILOMENA when he shifted in leaving the 1200m. Jockey Noach was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. PETITE BIJOU was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LOUISA MAY and PHILOMENA raced fitted with ear muffs. Vet: CRIMEA - returned having cast the left hind shoe.
