This race was run in rain. CATCH A GLIMPSE and ACRONYM were slow, losing 1 length. In view of the performance from OUR MOTHERLAND, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer van Vuuren was requested to report back on the condition of OUR MOTHERLAND on return to stables. Approaching the 1000m TIDAL TUSSLE had to steady off the heels of SECRET PALACE, which rolled in. Simultaneously CATCH A GLIMPSE commenced to over-race, which resulted in this filly clipping the heels of TIDAL TUSSLE and SUPER FINE being carried out by CATCH A GLIMPSE. The Board was satisfied that this was a racing incident and could not apportion blame to any individual rider and therefore took no further action. QUEEN OF THE ROSES and FIRST SIGHTING were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CAPTAIN'S LEGACY raced equipped with a tongue tie. Vet: OUR MOTHERLAND - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
