THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LITTLEWOOD (P Strydom) broke through the starting stalls. The starting stall certificate for this mare has been withdrawn. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (LS). b) CAPPELLA MAGNA (*K Matsunyane) refused to jump. The starting stall certificate for this colt has been withdrawn. Trainer S J Gray advised (LS). c) TURF MASTER (M van Rensburg) jumped outwards leaving the stall d) MAGIC VISION (S Khumalo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LITTLEWOOD (P Strydom) broke through the front starting stalls, was restrained by the Rider, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) Jockey L Hewitson reported the saddle on LATIN OPUS slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the Stipendiary Board. c) Jockey P Strydom reported LITTLEWOOD was not suited to the underfoot conditions. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to LITTLEWOOD, this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 11.12.20 to the 17.12.20. LITTLEWOOD may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to CAPPELLA MAGNA, this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 30 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 11.12.20 to the 09.01.21. CAPPELLA MAGNA, may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer S J Gray advised. f) SO LONG SPRING (*J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee P Jevu, acting on behalf of Trainer T Zackey, was advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CAPPELLA MAGNA was ridden by Apprentice K Matsunyane (declared 10 December 2020 at 17H12). Permission granted as Jockey W Kennedy had a flight to catch. b) MAGIC VISION: Jockey S Khumalo weighed out at 53,3kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) TURF MASTER raced with a compression mask (declared 10 December 2020 at 09H00). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) LITTLEWOOD blowing post race. b) IDEAL WOLFF cast the left fore shoe. c) MAGIC VISION post race distress. Blood was taken for analysis. Stable Employee C Jena, acting on behalf of Trainer P F Matchett, advised. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
