THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SAMOA (L Hewitson) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b) COUNTESSOFCOULTER (*N Klink) was slow into stride.
c) JAVA HOUSE (*L J Ferraris) was slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) CAERPHILLY (B Nyawo) proved reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer R R Magner was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, she may be suspended.
b) En route to the start, VARS JY was intractable and reared, dislodging Jockey N Qaule and was subsequently scratched. This filly is suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4 and until such time as she proves tractable cantering to the start on a race day. Trainer S M Naidoo advised.
c) KARIN B (J Greyling) commenced to give ground to the field from the 400m.
d) CAERPHILLY (B Nyawo) hung in in the concluding stages.
e) Jockey C Maujean reported that HOT GOSSIP made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f) Apprentice L J Ferrari reported that he felt something amiss with JAVA HOUSE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
g) MULETA (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Sage was advised (GF).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) ROKSOLANA was ridden by Jockey M Mjoka (declared 7 December 2020 at 12H58).
b) COUNTESSOFCOULTER was ridden by Apprentice N Klink (declared 10 December 2020 at 07H25).
c) KARIN B: Jockey J Greyling weighed out at 54,1kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
