BYRON BAY jumped inwards leaving the stalls. In a race with no early pace, BYRON BAY, THREE DOG NIGHT, BORN RICH and TOM TOM commenced to over-race. TOM TOM shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. Work rider Dadamasi appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his ride on BYRON BAY in the straight. He explained to the Board the he was instructed to maintain a position relevant to SLAY THE DRAGON, as they felt this was the horse to beat. Thereafter, from the 200m, SLAY THE DRAGON had quickened away from him and finished the race off stronger. SLAY THE DRAGON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. JET POWER raced equipped with a Cornell collar. Vet: BYRON BAY - speedy cut left front.
