MOSTABSHIR was subject to a Veterinary inspection on arrival at the start. MOSTABHIR was inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon and declared fit to race. Following the inspection of MOTSABHIR, Jockey KHUMALO elected not to ride this gelding as he had concerns over MOTSABSHIR'S soundness. A replacement rider was sought and no suitable rider was readily available. MOTSABSHIR was subsequently scratched. this caused a delay to the start of this race. CLAIRVOYANCE jumped inwards leaving the stalls. Jockey Steyn reported that FLY NORTH took no interest in running. After arriving at the start MOSTABSHIR was subject to a veterinary inspection and declared fit to race. Jockey Khumalo raised concerns about the soundness of this gelding and was not prepared to ride MOTSABHIR. There was no suitable replacement rider available and MOTSABSHIR was subsequently scratched. Assistant Trainer Oosthuizen was requested to report back on the condition of MOSTABSHIR on return to stables. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning TIMEOFTHEVIKINGS, this horse was suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. TWO GUNS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. THE GOON SHOW raced in Club colours (blue, black cap). Vet: TIMEOFTHEVIKINGS - Epistaxis. Recommended 60 days' suspension. FLY NORTH - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: FLEUR DU CAP - not transport. MOSTABSHIR - no suitable rider available (NHA).
