During the loading process POTALA reared in the stalls and dislodged Jockey G Lerena. Jockey Lerena was examined by the course medical staff, who him found to be injured and subsequently declared him unfit to ride. The start of this race was delayed to allow a replacement rider to be weighed out and transported to the start. POTALA reared in the stalls, dislodging Jockey Lerena (who was replaced by Jockey van Rensburg), and thereafter jumped outwards leaving the stalls. AL JAHBATH and GROBAN were restless in the stalls. Assistant Trainer de Kock and Trainer Fortune were advised to re-school their respective horses prior to their next engagement. PETRONI VINI, UKUBIZA, KALGOORLIE and TOUCH OF FATE lost 1 length. HIDDEN BLUE jumped outwards leaving the stalls. AL JAHBATH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer de Kock failed to notify the local office of the National Horse-racing Authority within seven (7) days that AL JAHBATH had been gelded. TOUCH OF FATE raced unshod. Vet: PETRONI VINI - abnormal respiratory noise. SEASON'S END - scalped left hind. Scratched: NEST RAIDER - abnormal temperature.
