An objection was lodged by the Rider, De Gouveia, of the fourth placed horse REASON TO SING against the winner, PLACE DU MARCHE, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Board after reviewing the patrol films of the race and hearing the evidence of Jockey De Gouveia, overruled the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board considered that, PLACE DU MARCHE had run on from behind REASON TO SING, PLACE DU MARCHE was 1.45 lengths clear of REASON TO SING at the line and that, at the point where the incident had occurred, the main instigator was REASON TO SING himself, who shifted in away from the crop. Accordingly, the Board could not be satisfied that, but for the above incident, REASON TO SING would have beaten PLACE DU MARCHE. This was confirmed by the evidence of Jockey De Gouveia. The Board was further of the view that, in light of the above evidence, there was no reasonable prospect of success in Jockey De Gouveia's objection. TIBETAN SUNRISE raced greenly in the running. At the 200m, LIQUID SUNSHINE who had tired and come to the end of her run, became awkwardly placed on the heels of POMODORO EXPRESS.
