ANGEL OF ATHENS was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. GRANDISSIMO was stubborn loading, slow away and lost 1 length. Jockey Fayd'Herbe appeared before the Board and was afforded the opportunity to place on record, any factors which he believed contributed to the poor performance of ARABIAN DYNASTY. In this regard, he explained to the Board that, this gelding had over raced in the early stages, subsequently failed to produce any kind of finishing burst and felt 'flat'. In view of this report, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer Smith appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of SEATTLE SWING. In this regard, Trainer Smith could offer no tangible explanation regarding the improved performance of this gelding. However, he hypothesized that, this horse had appreciated the return to the Turf Track and undertook, where possible, to continue to race SEATTLE SWING on this surface. Notwithstanding this explanation, Trainer Smith's attention was drawn to the rules pertaining to in and out running and was advised that should SEATTLE SWING not maintain his form in future, he may be suspended.
