MISS HONEY reared in the stalls. Was removed, checked by the Veterinary Surgeon and reloaded. MISS FLORIDA and CAVIVAR were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Approaching the 100-meter mark YESSIRICANBOOGIE shifted out away from the crop which resulted in WHAT YOU ARE becoming cramped between CAVIVAR and YESSIRICANBOOGIE. At approximately the 50-meter mark YESSIRICANBOOGIE changed stride and shifted outwards just as MISS FLORIDA shifted towards YESSIRICANBOOGIE. This resulted in YESSIRICANBOOGIE and CAVIVAR making contact shortly before the finish line. An Inquiry was held into this incident. A race review was called by Trainer Tarry which was followed by an Objection which was lodged by Jockey Hewitson, rider of the second placed horse CAVIVAR against the winner MISS FLORIDA on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Objection Board after hearing all the evidence could not conclusively say that the contact between CAVIVAR and YESSIRICANBOOGIE was caused exclusively by the actions of MISS FLORIDA and therefore over-ruled the Objection, refunded the deposit and allowed the Judge's result to stand. In view of the performances of MISS HONEY, TRAVELLING LIGHT and VANDAH'S SPIRIT the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. Jockey Veale the rider of NAOSHIMA reported this filly took no interest in running. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's Report concerning BASADI FAITH, this filly was suspended from racing of a period of 60 days. SOMEWHERE IN TIME raced fitted with ear-muffs. WHAT YOU ARE - change of colors. Cape Leopard Trust (Nom: Mr A Head) - RED, WHITE HOOP, BLACK SLEEVES, RED CUFFS & CAP. Vet: BASADI FAITH - epistaxis. Recommend 60 days suspension. MISS HONEY - abrasions left fore. NAOSHIMA and TRAVELLING LIGHT - nothing obvious detected. SOMEWHERE IN TIME - mouth injury. VANDAH'S SPIRIT - not striding out right fore.
