SABBATICAL was nervous in the stalls, slow away and lost 1 length. Prior to the running of this race, Jockey Cheyne informed the Board that, he intended on riding GREEN LANTERN "cold" in this regard, he would seek cover behind other runners, and track into the race for as long as possible before asking GREEN LANTERN for his final finishing burst. Jockey Cheyne's motivation for such a ride was that, this gelding's best form was when ridden with cover and produced late. Accordingly, today, he would try and replicate similar conditions in order to enable GREEN LANTERN to produce his best performance. The Board noted Jockey Cheyne's explanation which was corroborated by this horse's form. Additionally, the above information was disseminated to the public. In a tightly bunched finish, with a number of horses racing on the inside of the track: BORDER CONTROL was disappointed for a run from the 400m to the finish; and, shortly before the finishing line, COUNTING STARS was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of CLIFTON CRUSHER which was carried in marginally by STORY OF MY LIFE which shifted in away from the crop. PAPER TOWN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
