GOLDEN CHANCE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. OOH LA LA became cramped and unbalanced and made contact with the hindquarters of DIAMANTE when attempting to improve along the inside of DIAMANTE along the inside running rail. LUNA CHILD shifted out towards GOLDEN CHANCE making contact approaching the 150-meter mark, thereafter both LUNA CHILD and GOLDEN CHANCE, racing in close proximity, brushed at approximately the 50-meter mark and thereafter shortly before the finish. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward into this incident which was followed by an Objection lodged by Jockey Hewitson, rider of the second placed horse LUNA CHILD against the winner, GOLDEN CHANCE on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Objection Board after hearing all the evidence and viewing the patrol videos was of the opinion that the original movement was from LUNA CHILD and that these incidents did not affect the result of the race and therefore over-ruled the Objection, refunded the deposit and allowed the Judge's result to stand. GOLDEN CHANCE returned post-race having cast the right hind shoe. ELEGANT ROYAL raced fitted with ear-muffs. Vet: DAME KELLY - coughing and not striding out right hind. SHE'S A DREAM - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: SWEET MARY LOU - stipes' permission - qualified for the KZN Chapter Challenge 8.6.2019. GENEROUS LADY - injured in transit. Scratched by the Veterinary Surgeon at 12:18:55 (NHA).
