The start of this Race was delayed due to the previous Race presentation being late as a result of the inclement weather conditions. Steady rain fell prior to the running of this Race. LEGEND and BIKER BABE lost one length. BON BON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the performances of ROY'S MAGIC (AUS) and SAUVAGE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. TOMMY GRAND was hanging in, in the closing stages. At approximately the 250m, ROY'S MAGIC (AUS) was awkwardly placed on the heels of KILMOKEA, which rolled out marginally. HEART OF A LEGEND raced wide in the early stages and raced to the front at the 1200m. RED SHIFT over-raced in the early and middle stages. Thereafter Jockey Wright reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding. Jockey Hewitson the rider of SWEET MARY LOU reported that he felt something amiss with this filly. TOMMY GRAND returned post-race having cast the right fore shoe. Vet: SWEET MARY LOU, RED SHIFT and ROY'S MAGIC (AUS) - nothing obvious detected. SAUVAGE - fatigued. JET STREAM - scalped left hind. VICTORIOUS MAN - coughing.
