There was a delay to the start of the 8th Race as a result of one of the handlers being injured at the start and the paramedics having to attend to him at the start before loading could commence. MYRRH lost 1 length. JACK OF HEARTS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. JACK OF HEARTS was hanging in in the final straight. Approaching the 100-meter mark ONTOPOFTHEWORLD shifted out bumping JACK OF HEARTS resulting in JACK OF HEARTS and ONTOPOFTHEWORLD becoming unbalanced and both geldings shifting inwards. Thereafter JACK OF HEARTS shifted in brushing ONTOPOFTHEWORLD on two occasions in the closing stages. An Objection was lodged by Jockey Veale, rider of the second placed horse ONTOPOFTHEWORLD against the winner, JACK OF HEARTS on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Objection Board after hearing all the evidence was of the opinion that this incident did not affect the result of the race and therefore over-ruled the Objection and allowed the Judge's result to stand. The deposit was refunded. Jockey Dillon the rider of KHEELAN DYNASTY and Jockey Yeni the rider of HOLY FLAME reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running. In view of the performances of ROOM AT THE TOP and CARLBURG, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. AL JACKMAN raced fitted with ear-muffs. Vet: ROOM AT THE TOP, KHEELAN DYNASTY, HOLY FLAME and CARLBURG - nothing obvious detected.
